Kenneth J. Knuckles J.D. serves as Independent Director of the Company. He retired in 2018 as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation (“UMEZ”), after over fifteen (15) years of service. Mr. Knuckles currently serves as Vice Chair of the New York City Planning Commission. Prior to joining UMEZ, Mr. Knuckles was Vice President of Support Services and Chief Procurement Officer at Columbia University. Mr. Knuckles earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and his law degree from Howard University School of Law. Mr. Knuckles’ experience in New York City community development issues contributes to Carver’s mission to support the communities it serves.
